- a taste for punk, goth, heavy metal and miserable blues
- mutant rat who wears leather and mesh, smoker
- actually a virtuoso at guitar but incorrigibly noisy and stubborn

"Shumnki" - bad keyboardist, singer
- goth, funk, post-punk, EDM fan
- mutant crocodile who wears pagan stuff
- a threatening screamer. can hold down a few basic chords, almost always using bombastic choir patches
- latent magical talent and an unrivaled beacon for Baelie activity

other members:
- a table full of knock-off drum machines and bass synths
- SOPP used to have a revolving door membership of real musicians but that was before Gene became more of a tyrant

associates:
Oorta Bagshaw, their "manager" who they never see
- squirrel person who basically lives in jail now
- used to have a talent for misconfiguring mixing desks to life-threatening extents
"Limmhesto", cover artist and gig poster designer
- self-styled demon and a fairly dangerous mercenary
- not a people person as such

friends of the band:
"Gammajine", who was human but has now become a demon with a scorpion tale
- Gene, Shumnki, Limmhesto and Gammajine are long-term friends who fight constantly
- Gammajine fell in with the wrystical mathematics people but somehow came out smarter than she went in
- now Limmhesto's remote, they only accept mercenary jobs if they're both hired
L. Minique, who runs the Greyknurl pub (no-one has asked her how she came to own it and maybe she doesn't)
